Full Transcript: “Hi, my name is Cindy Beeman. I’m the executive director for Interfaith of Susquehanna County in Pennsylvania and I am excited to be here because I believe that the natural gas industry brings choice to our county. The way I mean that is that families in Susquehanna County have historically not had a huge amount of choice for any number of things. The families that have the choice to get natural gas now, in Susquehanna County, have seen a decrease of them coming in for our [Interfaith] services.
Interfaith provides help/hope and advocacy. Those two things are huge for our area. One of the things for the help is that we assist families when they are facing a utility crisis. Those who have the choice of natural gas, we’re seeing less of them because it’s much more manageable for them and theres a bigger chance they are able to afford to continue paying their bills, while they’re facing that crisis. So, I’m all about choice.
I’m about choice because it also brings accountability, as far as people thinking that there is a value to education and staying in our area. Anybody in the past who really wanted to make money or do better for themselves have had to go out of the Susquehanna County area. Now, thanks to natural gas, there are actually jobs here that are sustainable, and we want to see that continue. It’s all about choice.”
