Criminal Vandals Damage Sunoco Mariner East II Construction Equipment
Criminal attacks by anti-pipeline extremists on April 2 and 3 caused “significant damage” to two pieces of construction equipment, Sunoco Pipelines reported. The company has offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of vandals who attacked construction equipment along the route of the Mariner East 2 pipeline in West Whiteland Township, Chester County.
West Whiteland Police confirmed the incident which they said affected a bulldozer and a backhoe. Police Chief Joseph Catov said the vandals cut hydraulic and fuel lines and some wiring, tried to seal the cab of one vehicle using silicone, and may have poured sand into a diesel tank. An investigation is active, and there are as yet no suspects.
